The hub is a collaborative effort between Associated British Ports (ABP) and px Group, known for operating Saltend Chemicals Park. This partnership aims to capitalise on Barry’s potential in diverse sectors, including rare earth processing, battery materials, and carbon capture. Such a strategic alliance ensures the hub has the expertise required to succeed.
At the heart of this project is the intention to secure substantial investment, driving forward sustainable economic growth. Stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of Barry’s existing strengths and infrastructure, which include a five-megawatt solar array. The potential for scaling up renewable energies is evident, supporting a future-oriented vision.
Barry’s development is part of ABP’s broader strategy for its South Wales ports.
