The £660 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II has made its inaugural investment in a Cheshire business by participating in a £3.8 million funding initiative at The Padel Club. The club, founded by Kris Ball in 2020, capitalises on the growing popularity of padel in the UK, following successful trends observed overseas. Praetura Ventures manages the £1.5 million NPIF II investment as part of the wider Northern Powerhouse fund.
The club’s head of finance, Charlotte Kopciowski, highlighted that this investment aligns with their strategic goals, aiming to foster a strong community centred around the love of padel. Kopciowski expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with Praetura, emphasising the value their expertise brings to the club’s management team.
