Alo Yoga, a prominent Los Angeles-based athleisure brand, is embarking on its UK expansion journey with the opening of its first store at 33 King’s Road, London. The new flagship store, occupying 4,000 square feet, marks Alo Yoga’s initial physical presence in the UK, indicating the brand’s commitment to establishing a foothold in the European market.
The signing of the King’s Road store lease in May 2023 paves the way for Alo Yoga’s intention to broaden its reach within the UK. Plans are already underway for two additional store openings across London in 2024. Alo Yoga has earmarked Regent Street for a summer 2024 opening, which will feature a gym and wellness club, highlighting the brand’s focus on enhancing guest experience and community interaction.
Additionally, an autumn 2024 opening on Brompton Road is expected to further solidify the brand’s presence in the capital. These moves are part of a broader strategy to introduce the brand’s community-centric retail model, which prioritises convenience and guest engagement.
Danny Harris, co-founder and co-CEO of Alo Yoga, expressed the brand’s synergy with the UK’s cultured lifestyle and vibrant yoga and fitness scene. According to Harris, the retail expansion is not just about business growth but also about connecting with a community that shares the brand’s passion for wellbeing and active living.
Founded in 2007 by Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, Alo Yoga began its journey with yoga apparel and has since diversified its offerings to include a wide range of athleisure products such as joggers, dresses, trainers, and accessories. The brand’s presence in renowned UK stockists like Selfridges, Harrods, Marks & Spencer, and Net-a-Porter further underscores its appeal and reach within the market.
Alo Yoga’s UK expansion marks a significant step in its European retail strategy, emphasising connection with local communities and wellness integration.
