The store is situated at 37 Neal Street, housed in a Grade II-listed building, reflecting Barbour’s commitment to cultural heritage and architectural preservation.
This store marks Barbour’s second retail presence in Covent Garden, complementing their previous establishment on Long Acre. The Long Acre store, which opened in 2011, has established a strong presence, and this new venture aims to build upon that success.
Barbour’s latest opening is part of their ‘New Heritage’ retail concept. This concept seeks to blend industrial design aspects with the brand’s renowned craftsmanship and traditional values. The store will feature limited edition re-loved jackets and provide re-waxing services, underlining Barbour’s sustainability initiative through the ‘wax for life’ programme.
Paul Wilkinson, the Barbour Group Commercial Director, highlighted the significance of Neal Street as an ideal location due to its rich consumer traffic and proximity to a blend of global brands and independent stores. Neal Street’s strategic positioning provides Barbour with a broad international consumer base.
Looking forward, Barbour’s expansion strategy includes a new store at Victoria Quarter in Leeds, expected to open shortly. This approach is indicative of Barbour’s ambition to broaden its reach across key retail locations in the UK.
Barbour’s strategic expansions represent its commitment to heritage and sustainability, while enhancing its retail footprint across the UK.
