Shaftesbury Capital has revealed plans for a pioneering Christmas lighting display on Carnaby Street, to be officially unveiled on 7 November. This new initiative, dubbed ‘Into the Light’, aims to transform the street with large star installations marking its gateways, alongside 60-metre-long sculptural light forms.
The lighting display will incorporate over 60,000 LEDs, setting a precedent for such installations in London. This innovative scheme promises a distinctive experience for visitors, enhancing Carnaby Street’s reputation as a shopping and dining destination.
In alignment with sustainability goals, the lighting will utilise energy sourced from renewable means. This aspect of the project underlines a commitment to environmentally-friendly practices, ensuring the lights contribute positively to the area.
The installation also extends into Kingly Court, integrating the entire space into a cohesive festive environment. Furthermore, the landlord confirms that the display is adaptable, paving the way for future annual customisations.
