Castore, renowned for its innovative sportswear, has signed a 10-year lease agreement for a 1,771 square feet retail unit in Derby’s Derbion shopping centre. This marks a significant addition to the brand’s expanding footprint within the UK.
The new store, which is scheduled to open on 22 August, will be situated on the second floor of the shopping centre, next to the well-established sportswear retailer Footlocker. This strategic positioning is set to strengthen Castore’s visibility and accessibility to customers.
Currently boasting more than 30 retail locations worldwide, Castore already has a solid presence in the UK with 16 stores. In line with their ambitious international expansion strategy, Castore recently inaugurated a flagship store in the UAE’s Dubai Mall in October 2023, followed by a concept store in Dublin in February 2024.
Peter Alecock, former COO of JD Sports and CEO of Joe Browns, who joined Castore as commercial director, remarked, “We are really excited to be opening our latest store at Derbion as we look to bring our quality array of sportswear to Derby shoppers.” His statement underscores the brand’s commitment to delivering quality products and enhancing customer experience in new markets.
