The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) has launched a winter fundraising appeal, with an ambitious target of £10,000, to aid families within the fashion industry. This initiative focuses on providing grants to families for crucial children’s items such as bedding, furniture, appliances, and clothing. The trust’s survey revealed a significant concern among parents in the industry, with 80% worried about keeping their children warm this winter.
In addition to individual donations, major contributions have been secured from industry partners. Vision Linens has already provided 100 bedding bundles, set to be distributed to families benefiting from the grants. Other notable partners such as Boden, Johnsons Hotel Linen, Ralph Lauren, Clean Linen, and Luxury Lockstitch UK are actively participating in fundraising efforts to support the campaign.
FTCT guarantees that every donation will directly reach those in need, ensuring no administrative costs dilute the support for struggling families. CEO Anna Pangbourne empathised with the challenging decisions these families face, notably the dilemma between heating their homes and purchasing warm clothes for their children. She emphasises that every child should have access to warmth, safety, and comfort, and shared the positive impact seen through the trust’s grants, showing how essential items like cosy bedding and warm coats enhance a child’s wellbeing.
Two weeks prior, the Drapers Awards contributed £7,100 towards the trust’s family grants. This amount is poised to significantly help in achieving the fundraising target, offering relief to many during the harsh winter months.
The FTCT’s winter appeal represents a critical effort to provide relief and essential support to fashion industry families in need during challenging times.
