Lambell brings significant expertise to his new role, having led eBay’s UK business from 2020 to 2023. Most recently, he managed a multi-billion dollar category within eBay’s global business selling team. His extensive experience is expected to drive Gousto’s insights, brand, sustainability, acquisition, and retention efforts.
This appointment is timely, with Gousto recently returning to profitability. The company reported an underlying EBITDA of £26 million for the year 2023. CEO Timo Boldt expressed enthusiasm about Lambell joining the leadership team, citing his dedication to customer satisfaction and alignment with Gousto’s culture of inclusion and collaboration.
Lambell expressed his own excitement about joining Gousto, commenting on the company’s inspiring culture and significant growth opportunities. He stated, “There’s an enormous opportunity ahead for Gousto, and I’m excited to support this next stage of the journey, bringing more delicious Gousto meals to even more dinner tables.”
In addition to Lambell’s appointment, Gousto announced changes in existing leadership roles. Sally Matthews, the current chief customer officer, will become chief strategy officer, focusing on long-term growth opportunities. Meanwhile, Shaun Pearce will expand his responsibilities as chief product and technology officer, overseeing digital product development and technological innovation.
