H&M marks two decades of guest designer collaborations with a special release.
- The initiative offers fashion enthusiasts access to past designer pieces.
- Prominent designers featured include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Moschino.
- The pre-loved items will be available in Paris and London stores.
- This effort underscores H&M’s commitment to accessible quality fashion.
H&M is commemorating twenty years of its collaborations with renowned designers by releasing a selection of pre-loved items from previous collections. This initiative allows fashion enthusiasts to acquire pieces that were initially part of exclusive designer partnerships. The collaborations were first launched in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld, then head of Chanel, marking a significant moment in making high-end fashion designs accessible to a broader audience.
The re-released collection includes items designed by celebrated names such as Karl Lagerfeld (2004), Stella McCartney (2005), Roberto Cavalli (2007), Moschino (2018), Simone Rocha (2021), Mugler (spring 2023), and Rabanne (autumn 2023). These items have been carefully sourced through collaborations with Sellpy, an online marketplace for pre-loved goods, and various global vintage retailers.
The first release is scheduled for 24 October at H&M’s Paris Lafayette store, with a subsequent release on 25 October at the Regent Street store in London. This phased approach provides different regions the opportunity to engage with the collection.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor, commented on the significance of this initiative: “Our aim was to introduce the world of fashion to consumers globally, while showcasing our connection to strong, thoughtful and original design. It connects to the fundamental ethos of H&M: that quality and creativity should be available for everyone.” The statement reflects H&M’s mission to bridge the gap between high fashion and everyday consumers.
H&M’s re-release of past designer collaborations reaffirms its dedication to democratising fashion access.
