Lucy & Yak, a British direct-to-consumer fashion and lifestyle brand, has increased its physical retail presence with the opening of a new store in Exeter, located at 7 High Street. This addition marks the brand’s ninth store in the United Kingdom, following locations in Bristol, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Cardiff and two stores in Brighton.
The Exeter store maintains the brand’s distinctive aesthetic with its signature soft pink colour palette. It offers the latest releases and core collections from Lucy & Yak, including their renowned dungarees. Customers visiting the store can utilise one of the four changing rooms, one of which is designed for greater accessibility, ensuring a comfortable shopping experience. These changing rooms feature natural linen curtains and wooden furnishings, adding to the store’s inviting atmosphere.
In line with Lucy & Yak’s commitment to sustainability, the Exeter store supports the brand’s buyback scheme, allowing customers to recycle, repair, or upcycle their clothing. This initiative reflects the company’s dedication to environmentally conscious business practices. The brand also plans to enhance this offering with upcycling and repair workshops, which customers will soon be able to book through their website.
Co-founder Lucy Greenwood expressed enthusiasm for the new store, stating, “We’re so excited to announce the opening of our next shop, in Exeter, our most southerly shop to date. The new space will be another hub for creativity and community, giving us a chance to engage with our customers in person. We plan to continue building our Re:Yak buyback scheme, and upcycling and repair workshops which you’ll be able to browse and book via our website soon.” Her personal connection to Devon, highlighted by her time exploring the coastline, underpins the store’s community-focused approach.
Lucy & Yak continues to be at the forefront of sustainable retail, demonstrating that the future of retail is in embracing omnichannel strategies. With a strong community presence and a commitment to sustainability, the brand is well-positioned to expand its influence in the UK fashion market.
By opening in Exeter, Lucy & Yak not only grows its retail footprint but also reinforces its community and sustainability ethos.
