Mamas & Papas has reported a robust financial performance for the year ending 31 March, driven by strategic expansions and increased consumer interest in its product offerings. Sales surged by 7.1% to £154.3 million, showcasing a successful growth trajectory for the high street nursery retailer.
The company’s underlying profit saw a notable increase of 27%, reaching £13.2 million, while adjusted pre-tax profit rose significantly by 33% to £9.1 million. This financial upswing is attributed to the brand’s expansion and strategic partnerships.
Sales across Mamas & Papas’ 36 UK concessions with prominent retailers such as M&S and Next skyrocketed by 48%. This impressive growth was supported by the addition of six new destinations and the full-year impact of 15 new locations that were launched in the previous year.
Internationally, the brand has been expanding its footprint, establishing 28 overseas concessions in Spain, Indonesia, and Thailand. According to Nathan Williams, the CEO, international partnerships are a focal point as the company seeks to globalise its brand.
Williams expressed pride in the brand’s achievements, highlighting the beneficial outcomes of investments in both the brand and business. The strategy involves enhancing data capabilities, which enables the company to offer tailored support to customers during critical moments of their purchasing journey.
Heading into the golden quarter, the company is expanding its product line to incorporate festive gifts and toys, gearing up for what is expected to be its largest Christmas trading period to date.
Mamas & Papas’ strategic growth initiatives and international expansion have yielded notable financial success, setting the stage for a promising future.
