Danish fashion and lifestyle brand Wood Wood has initiated significant management changes under its new ownership by DK Company. The brand, which had encountered financial difficulties leading to insolvency in 2023, was acquired in April 2024. This acquisition followed the closure of several stores in key locations such as London and Berlin.
Under the new operational structure, Wood Wood is set to be led by Morten Dybdahl as the new brand director. Dybdahl brings his expertise from serving as the brand director for Matinique, a menswear label also under DK Company’s portfolio.
Central to the restructuring is Brian SS Jensen, co-founder of Wood Wood. Jensen transitions to the role of creative director, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to further the brand’s legacy with strong support from DK Company. He aims to return to a ‘simpler and more honest’ version of the brand, balancing heritage with future development.
The appointment of Gitte Wetter, previously a menswear designer at Samsøe Samsøe, as head of design marks another pivotal change. Wetter is expected to collaborate closely with Jensen in steering the brand’s creative direction.
In summary, these strategic appointments and structural adjustments underscore DK Company’s commitment to revitalising Wood Wood, intent on harmonising past values with innovative growth strategies.
Wood Wood’s management restructure underlines a strategic shift aimed at leveraging past strengths and fostering future innovation.
