Spanish fashion retailer Mango has opened its first international store dedicated to teenagers at Foubert’s Place in London. This significant development marks a new chapter for Mango as it broadens its physical presence beyond Spain.
The 2,480 square foot store provides an extensive range of clothing, footwear, and accessories, from everyday wear to occasionwear. Mango has incorporated a Mediterranean-inspired concept in the store’s design, using warm tones and neutral colours complemented by natural materials such as ceramics, tuff rock, wood, marble, esparto grass, and leather.
Following the launch of Mango Kids in 2013 and the introduction of its teen line in 2020, Mango has focused on expanding its brand appeal to younger audiences. The success of Mango Teen’s first standalone store in Barcelona’s Westfield La Maquinista in June 2022 paved the way for further international expansion.
Mango plans to open 25 standalone teen stores by the end of 2024 in Spain, the UK, and Andorra. This growth strategy aligns with Mango’s broader goal to consolidate its position in key markets like the UK, a priority area identified in Mango’s 2024-2026 strategic plan. Berta Moral, Director of Mango Kids and Teen, noted that the UK was chosen for its strategic importance and as a step in their overarching goal to inspire young audiences worldwide.
Mango Teen aims to cater to the preferences of style-conscious teenagers seeking trendy, stylish, and comfortable outfits. Popular items include denim, fashion-forward pieces like crop-tops, miniskirts, and blazers, as well as accessories that add a personal touch to their wardrobe choices. The brand’s expansion follows a strong performance in 2023, where Mango Kids and Teen accounted for 8% of the group’s overall sales of £2.6 billion.
Future plans for Mango Teen include doubling its store count in 2024 while maintaining a keen focus on international presence. The successful integration of the teen line into Mango’s offerings reflects the brand’s commitment to its youthful audience, celebrating both the 10th anniversary of Mango Kids and the ongoing expansion of Mango Teen.
Mango’s new international teen store in London signifies a strategic growth move aimed at engaging young consumers in key markets.
