Filippo Grazioli has officially stepped down as the creative director of Italian luxury fashion house Missoni. He is departing the role with aspirations to pursue new creative and artistic challenges, leaving a notable imprint during his tenure since joining in 2022.
Throughout his time at Missoni, Grazioli was instrumental in overseeing both women’s and men’s wear collections. His background includes a significant role as collections director at Burberry and senior womenswear designer at Hermès, contributing to his reputable career in the fashion industry.
Alberto Caliri has been named as Grazioli’s successor. Caliri is not new to the role, having previously served as interim lead creative for Missoni after Angela Missoni in May 2021. His initial association with the fashion house dates back to 1998, marking a deep-rooted relationship with the brand.
Grazioli’s final contribution to Missoni was a show at Milan Fashion Week on 20 September, an event that marked the end of his influential presence at the brand. In contrast, Caliri is set to debut his new role with a pre-fall collection.
Livio Proli, CEO of Missoni, expressed confidence in Caliri’s capabilities by highlighting his profound understanding of the craftsmanship, stating that envisioning a garment from a yarn is a testament to his expertise—an expertise that will drive the brand’s continuous leap towards excellence.
The transition marks a new chapter for Missoni with Caliri at the creative helm.
