Ocado, in a strategic move to assist parents during the back-to-school season, has announced a price reduction on 200 additional branded and own-label products. This initiative, known as the Big Price Drop, is designed to ease financial pressures on families as the summer holidays conclude. The average reduction across the selected items is 8%, demonstrating Ocado’s commitment to affordability.
Among the items with reduced prices, Heinz Beans have experienced a 25p decrease, bringing the cost down to £3.75. Similarly, Walkers Ready Salted Crisps and Ocado’s own-range easy peelers have both seen price cuts of 10p. Notably, Copella Apple Juice now costs £2 after a significant 29% reduction from its original price of £2.80.
This recent development is a continuation of Ocado’s efforts from June, where more than 100 branded, own-label, and M&S everyday essential items, such as butter, cheese, and bread, saw price markdowns. The company appears committed to reinforcing its value proposition through consistent price adjustments.
Ocado Retail CEO, Hannah Gibson, articulated the company’s stance by stating: “Ocado is known for our amazing service and unbeatable choice – and delivering great value is just as important to us. Many of the products we’ve reduced today will help with those back-to-school shops and include big name brands, Ocado Own-Range and M&S items too.”
The company’s strategic focus on providing ‘reassuringly good value’ is clear, as it seeks to attract and retain customer loyalty by making everyday shopping more economical. Ocado is actively working to expand the Big Price Drop to include more products soon.
Ocado’s latest price reductions underline its commitment to providing customers with significant value through strategic pricing initiatives.
