The most prominent appointment is Miles Foster as the Group Operations Director. Foster joins Poundstretcher with an impressive 35-year tenure at Morrisons and will oversee more than 300 stores while leading the retailer’s growth strategy. His role is pivotal as he contributes to the company’s operational effectiveness, directly reporting to CEO Andy Atkinson.
Liz Harris has taken on the responsibility of heading the retail operations team. Her nearly 20-year experience at Morrisons, culminating in 2022, is expected to fortify Poundstretcher’s retail operations. Harris’s extensive industry knowledge is poised to play a crucial role in improving store-level efficiencies and customer service standards.
Further strengthening the executive bench, Tony Fearon has been appointed as the Group Commercial Director. His appointment is complemented by Kyle Storey as the Head of Trading for FMCG and Connor Black as the Head of Trading for Pets, who both bring their specialized expertise to the table. These strategic roles are expected to foster a more competitive market presence and enhance product offerings across categories.
The leadership team is rounded out by Annette Beecham and Mandy Fitzpatrick. Beecham, with her managerial experience at Home Bargains and B&M, and Fitzpatrick, who will lead the loss prevention team, are poised to contribute significantly to the company’s operational integrity and risk management. Additionally, new area managers Tim Dearing, Simon Smith, and James MacTavish add depth with their diverse experiences from B&M, One Beyond, Morrisons, and Asda.
CEO Andy Atkinson has expressed confidence in the new team, stating, “As we start this long and important journey, I am delighted that such a talented group of leaders have chosen to take the next step in their careers with us. These people are the best in the industry, and share our values in supporting our colleagues, and putting customers first.”
