Poundstretcher, under the ownership of private equity firm Fortress, has strategically strengthened its leadership by recruiting experienced executives from Morrisons. This move comes months after Andy Atkinson, the former Commercial Director at Morrisons, assumed the role of CEO at Poundstretcher following Fortress’ acquisition.
Miles Foster, with a distinguished career spanning 35 years at Morrisons, has been appointed as the Operations Director at Poundstretcher. In his new role, Foster will oversee the operations of more than 300 stores and facilitate the retailer’s growth strategy, reporting directly to CEO Andy Atkinson.
Joining the robust leadership team, Tony Fearon has been appointed as the Group Commercial Director. Fearon is accompanied by former Morrisons buying executive Connor Black, who assumes the position of Head of Trading for pets. Additionally, ex-Poundland executive Kyle Storey enriches the team as Head of Trading for FMCG.
Liz Harris, another seasoned Morrisons veteran, will lead the Retail Operations team at Poundstretcher. Her team is further bolstered by Annette Beecham, previously a regional manager at Home Bargains and B&M, and Mandy Fitzpatrick, formerly the head of central operations at Poundland, now managing the loss prevention team.
CEO Andy Atkinson remarked on the appointments, stating, “As we start this long and important journey, I am delighted that such a talented group of leaders have chosen to take the next step in their careers with us. These people are the best in the industry and share our values in supporting our colleagues, and putting customers first.” This leadership restructuring is aligned with Poundstretcher’s focus on growth and enhancing customer service.
Poundstretcher’s strategic recruitment from Morrisons is poised to drive its expansion and elevate customer satisfaction.
