Morrisons has introduced a strategic price reduction on several key vegetables essential for preparing the traditional Christmas dinner. Additionally, the supermarket is extending its generosity with a promotion on 2kg bags of potatoes, available at a 50% discount for just £1.15, a deal that extends until 1 January. According to Fraser Lovatt, Morrisons’ category director of produce and horticulture, these price cuts are designed to make sure that no Christmas dinner is lacking the essential trimmings and to help customers achieve a celebratory meal without stretching their budget.
Lovatt expressed further that the increased sales of these products not only benefit the consumers but also play a crucial role in reducing food wastage. By selling larger quantities of these reduced-price items, Morrisons aims to prevent surplus produce from going to waste while also supporting their network of British farmers.
In a similar vein, Asda has reintroduced its popular festive vegetable sale, setting the price at 15p for selected items. Shoppers at Asda can benefit from this offer on 1kg bags of carrots, 500g of Brussels sprouts, 360g of broccoli, and 500g of parsnips, available both in-store and online, starting from 19 December until 24 December. Thus, consumers have multiple options to secure festive favourites at reduced prices from both Morrisons and Asda.
