Represent will open its first UK flagship store in Manchester, demonstrating its growth and expansion in the retail sector. The new store, located on New Cathedral Street, offers 5,419 square feet of retail space, marking the brand’s initial permanent presence in the UK.
Founded in 2011 by George and Michael Heaton, Represent has achieved remarkable growth, transforming from a business initially run from their father’s shed to being recognised as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the UK. This year, The Sunday Times acknowledged Represent in its business growth rankings due to an average sales increase of 81.4% over the past three years.
Previously, Represent operated primarily online, selling its fashion and streetwear through its website and select high-end retailers like Selfridges, Harrods, and End Clothing. The decision to open a physical store in Manchester aligns with the brand’s strategic growth plans, as the city also hosts the company’s global headquarters.
An integral feature of the new Manchester store is the entire floor designated for the 247 by Represent line, which is identified as the fastest-growing segment of the brand. This division is on track to account for 14% of the business by the end of 2024, emphasizing its importance in the brand’s overall strategy.
Represent’s ambitious forecasts predict a turnover of £100 million by the end of the year and £250 million by 2028. The Manchester store is seen as a pivotal step, with founder George Heaton stating that opening a physical store in their hometown was a natural and crucial move as the brand continues its expansion.
