Represent, a notable British streetwear brand, has opened its inaugural UK flagship store in Manchester, reflecting both its heritage and strategic growth ambitions. This move follows the establishment of a 3,100-square-foot boutique in Los Angeles in March. The Manchester store, located on New Cathedral Street, is a substantial 5,419-square-foot space that solidifies the brand’s physical retail presence in the country.
Represent’s growth over the past years has been remarkable, with an average sales increase of 81.4% in the last three years. The company has been recognised as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the UK, ranking 68th according to The Sunday Times. The brand is projecting a record turnover of £100 million by the end of this year, aiming for £250 million by 2028.
The Manchester store is not just a retail space; it features an entire floor dedicated to 247 by Represent, the brand’s performancewear division. This line is the fastest growing segment of the business, expected to account for 14% of the company’s revenue by the year’s end. This reflects Represent’s successful expansion into diverse product offerings beyond traditional streetwear.
Founders George and Mike Heaton have expressed that opening a physical store in Manchester was a natural progression for the brand. Given Manchester’s role as the birthplace and host of the company’s global headquarters, the location holds significant emotional and strategic value. George Heaton stated, “As we continue to grow as a brand, opening our first physical UK store was a natural progression. Given that Represent was born in Manchester, and it’s where our global HQ is based, the city was the only choice – it is in our DNA.”
The launch of Represent’s flagship store in Manchester is a strategic milestone that underscores its roots and ambition for significant growth.
