The British streetwear brand ‘Represent’ is gearing up to open its first UK store in Manchester. Located on Unit 2 New Cathedral Street, the new store occupies a space of 5,419 square feet, nestled between other high-profile brands such as Canada Goose and Paul Smith.
Represent was founded in 2011 by brothers George and Mike Heaton, hailing from Greater Manchester. The brand’s fashion line, inspired by retro Mancunian designs, includes an array of T-shirts, hoodies, and trainers, appealing to streetwear enthusiasts.
With a formidable presence of over 150 stockists worldwide, including prominent names like Flannels, Selfridges, Harrods, Saks, Neiman Marcus Group, and Nordstrom, Represent is not new to the international scene.
Earlier this year, Represent launched its first physical store in Los Angeles, a 3,100 sq ft location that marked the brand’s initial venture into brick-and-mortar retail. Soon after, they secured a ten-year lease for a 5,000 sq ft outlet on Wardour Street, London, set to open in early 2025.
George Heaton, the creative director and founder of Represent, expressed his excitement about establishing their first UK retail store in Manchester, marking an essential milestone for the brand. He stated, “We are very excited to open our first UK retail store in Manchester, our hometown and base. “The Represent Manchester location marks an important and iconic milestone for the brand.”
Steve Gray, Global Mutual’s head of European retail asset management, highlighted the strategic significance of choosing New Cathedral Street for Represent’s first permanent location outside London. Gray noted, “It is fantastic that Represent has chosen New Cathedral Street for its first permanent location outside London, especially given the brand’s history with Greater Manchester. Both New Cathedral Street and Manchester Arndale are increasingly seeing strong demand from leading international brands.”
Represent’s new Manchester location is a pivotal development in its expansion strategy, affirming its commitment to the UK market.
