British womenswear brand Rixo has announced the transition of its New York City pop-up store into a permanent retail location. This strategic move was confirmed on 28 August and will solidify the brand’s presence at its current site on Prince Street, Manhattan.
Initially launched as a temporary pop-up on 22 April, the space was designed to operate on a three-month lease. However, the remarkable reception and performance of this store have led Rixo to extend its tenure indefinitely. The shop occupies an estimated 1,000 square feet and represents Rixo’s inaugural foray into brick-and-mortar retail within the United States.
The successful transition correlates with a significant increase in Rixo’s US direct-to-consumer sales, which have risen by 174% compared to figures from August 2023. This notable growth highlights the brand’s expanding influence and traction within the competitive US market.
Henrietta Rix, CEO and co-founder of Rixo, expressed enthusiasm about establishing a lasting foothold in New York. She stated, “We are thrilled to cement our presence in New York and look forward to deepening our connection with the community we’ve built there over the past nine years.” Rix further noted the pride she and her co-founder, Orlagh McCloskey, feel as female entrepreneurs who have achieved this milestone without external investment.
The decision to make the Prince Street site a permanent fixture underscores Rixo’s commitment to its US customers and its confidence in the continued growth potential of this market.
Rixo’s decision to establish a permanent store in New York is indicative of its strong growth and engagement in the US.
