Seasalt is set to enhance its presence in Glasgow with a new store scheduled to open at the Silverburn shopping centre on 7 September. This expansion aims to strengthen the brand’s footprint in Scotland, representing its fourth store in the region.
The 276 sq ft store will create 11 jobs, thus contributing to local employment. The company has emphasised the use of ‘next generation retail design’ for the store, employing UK-sourced materials to develop furnishings that are versatile, movable, and sustainable.
Richie Edwards, the director of retail at Seasalt, expressed enthusiasm for the new opening, highlighting the brand’s creative and maritime heritage from Cornwall, which they hope will resonate with the Glasgow community. Edwards stated, ‘We believe that our design aesthetic and commitment to sustainability will resonate with the people of Glasgow.’
Seasalt, known for its sustainable design ethos, already boasts more than 70 stores across the UK and Ireland. Its ambitious expansion plans are evident as it gears up to open 20 outlets in the United States over the next three years.
Financially, Seasalt has demonstrated impressive growth, with a turnover increase from £118.8 million to £132.6 million and a rise in pre-tax profit from £470,681 to £6.7 million, reflecting the company’s successful adaptation and market expansion.
