Barbour has introduced its latest Christmas advert for 2024, starring the beloved character Shaun the Sheep. Produced by Aardman Studios, the advert encapsulates the essence of giving during the holiday season, aiming to resonate with audiences across generations.
Set amidst the charming backdrop of Mossy Bottom Farm, the narrative unfolds with Bitzer, the farmer’s loyal dog, who takes the lead as he attempts to guide Shaun and his flock through a series of Christmas carols. However, the chill of the season presents a challenge as the cold dampens their festive cheer.
In a creative twist, Bitzer decides to uplift the flock’s spirits by offering them Barbour’s winter accessories, including snug hats and scarves. These thoughtful gifts not only provide warmth but enable the flock to continue their carol singing with renewed enthusiasm and harmony.
In addition to the advert, Barbour has crafted 30 exclusive limited-edition jackets inspired by Shaun the Sheep. These unique pieces, reworked from wax material, are up for sale on Barbour’s website and select Oxfam stores. Importantly, the proceeds from these sales will contribute to Oxfam’s charitable initiatives.
Paul Wilkinson, Barbour’s group commercial director, expressed excitement over this year’s collaboration with Aardman, highlighting shared values of quality and craftsmanship. He stated, ‘The Barbour and Aardman customer is multi-generational, which was a big part of the inspiration behind this campaign.’ He further noted the opportunity for consumers to purchase a one-of-a-kind jacket with all sales benefiting Oxfam.
Barbour’s 2024 Christmas campaign combines festive storytelling with charitable giving, strengthening its seasonal message.
