StockX, the Detroit-based resale platform, has announced the appointment of Nicholas Karrat as their new Chief Marketing Officer. Karrat steps into the role previously held by Deena Bahri, who left the company during a significant restructuring phase that affected about 40 positions.
Karrat joins StockX with a strong marketing background, having served as CMO for Tommy John, a New York-based intimates and loungewear retailer, since 2019. His experience is expected to be invaluable as he takes on the responsibility for StockX’s global marketing endeavors, encompassing brand, performance, creative, and product marketing strategies.
Founded in 2016, StockX has carved a niche for itself in the resale of streetwear, sportswear, and luxury items. Notable brands available on the platform include Nike, Adidas, and Gucci. The company also facilitates the trade of collectibles and electronics from tech giants such as Sony and Apple. StockX operates with a workforce of 1,000 individuals across its offices and verification centres worldwide, including a notable presence in London.
Karrat expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I’ve been buying Jordans since the 1980s, so having the opportunity to combine my work and passion makes this a dream role.” He commended StockX for innovating the commercial landscape and aims to solidify the brand’s influence in modern culture while empowering users.
