Farmison & Co, an online butcher known for its sustainable practices, has secured a supply agreement with Wellocks, a leading food service supplier. This step allows Farmison to extend its high-quality meat products to numerous prestigious restaurants across the United Kingdom.
The decision to collaborate comes after Farmison’s revival from administration, which took place under the leadership of a consortium headed by ex-Asda chief Andy Clarke. The consortium appointed Andy Adcock, previously of M&S Food, as the chief executive to spearhead this next phase.
Beginning 17th September, Wellocks’ customers will have access to a selection of Yorkshire-based Farmison’s naturally fed meats. The range includes British favourites such as 32-day dry-aged sirloin, ribeye steak, heritage breed beef chuck, aged lamb racks, and free-range chicken. Notably, this is the first British meat range that Wellocks is offering to its clientele.
The curated collection is crafted by renowned Michelin star chef Pierre Koffmann, enhancing the offering with his expertise. Alongside premium cuts, Wellocks’ clientele can also purchase lamb merguez sausages, Nidderdale sausages, Wiltshire cured back bacon, and steak and bone marrow burgers from Farmison.
Andy Adcock expressed enthusiasm, highlighting the significance of this development in broadening Farmison’s reach and enhancing its reputation. Jill Martin, managing director at Wellocks, echoed this sentiment, emphasising their shared commitment to exceptional ingredients and sustainability.
She further noted the importance of connecting chefs directly with producers, ensuring that the passion for quality translates throughout the supply chain. Pierre Koffmann’s endorsement of the range underscores the quality and sustainability that both Farmison and Wellocks aim to deliver.
This strategic partnership signifies a promising expansion for Farmison & Co within the gourmet restaurant supply chain.
