Tesco is set to broaden its assortment of chilled pizzas from the acclaimed Italian brand Crosta & Mollica. The expansion includes the introduction of four popular sourdough pizzas. In particular, shoppers can now indulge in the savoury Stromboli with spicy salami and the elegant Fiorentina featuring mushrooms, spinach, and creamy garlic.
These new flavours are expected to captivate taste buds, alongside the Regina with prosciutto, mushrooms, and mozzarella, and the timeless Margherita. The enhanced range will be accessible nationwide in up to 650 Tesco stores, conveniently available for purchase online as well.
This extension builds upon Crosta & Mollica’s initial presence in Tesco, which began in May with offerings like Formaggi, Pinsa Roman varieties, and a ready-to-top pizza base. The brand witnessed significant sales, prompting this larger distribution.
Crosta & Mollica’s UK sales director, Elena Connell, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Tesco on the expansion of our chilled pizza range, following a robust sales period for the initial four-strong range.” She underscored the growth in sales by over 50% year on year, reflecting strong consumer demand.
