Virgin Wines has embarked on a strategic partnership with Ocado, enhancing consumer access to its products. Previously restricted to multi-bottle cases or Virgin Wines customers only, 50 wines from Virgin’s portfolio are now individually available through Ocado. This transition allows a broader audience to appreciate the unique selection that Virgin Wines offers.
Virgin Wines CEO, Jay Wright, expressed confidence in the collaboration, highlighting the diverse and evolving range crafted by their network of independent winemakers. Wright stated, “Virgin Wines has long-standing relationships with a considerable network of independent winemakers across the world… I’m confident the wines selected for our range at Ocado will resonate with both seasoned wine enthusiasts and those looking to discover something new.” This statement underscores the commitment of Virgin Wines to meet diverse consumer tastes.
Ocado’s trading manager for beers, spirits, and wines, Vanessa Pearson, emphasised the benefits for Ocado’s customers. Pearson noted the convenience of adding wine to weekly groceries and Ocado’s ability to rapidly adapt to consumer trends, stating, “We’re particularly excited to share this new selection – the wines are exceptional, and all bring something brand new to the range.” This flexibility distinguishes Ocado from traditional supermarkets constrained by physical shelf space.
The Virgin Wines and Ocado partnership offers a uniquely available range of wines, catering to diverse consumer interests.
