Wilko has officially reopened in London’s Uxbridge, a development that signifies the retailer’s re-entry into the capital. This new store spans an impressive 30,000 square feet within The Pavilions Shopping Centre. Shoppers can anticipate a broad selection of products, ranging from cleaning essentials to gardening tools and pet care items.
Enhancing the shopping experience, Wilko provides in-store self-service terminals. These allow customers to access Wilko’s extensive online inventory of over 100,000 items. Customers can conveniently choose between home delivery or using the efficient click and collect service, available within as little as an hour.
This Uxbridge branch is part of Wilko’s broader expansion strategy across the United Kingdom, spearheaded by its current owner, CDS Superstores. Recent store openings have also occurred in locations such as Poole, Exeter, Luton, Plymouth, St Albans, and Rotherham.
Alex Simpkin, the CEO of CDS Superstores, expressed his delight at the warm reception from the Uxbridge community. He reaffirmed the commitment to delivering quality goods at competitive prices, as more customers are expected to frequent the store in the coming months.
Alongside Wilko’s growth, CDS Superstores has extended its reach by acquiring the Homebase IP and up to 70 UK stores. These acquisitions will remain operational as Homebase in the interim, with plans to convert them into The Range stores, which will offer an expanded array of garden, showroom, and DIY products.
Wilko’s strategic re-entry into London with its Uxbridge store represents a major step in its UK expansion plans.
