Wolford, a renowned Austrian lingerie brand, has announced the appointment of Regis Rimbert as its new chief executive officer, effective 14 June. Rimbert returns to the company after an eleven-year hiatus, having previously held the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and head of sales from 2009 to 2013.
Silvia Azzali, who had served as the CEO since July 2023, is stepping down due to personal reasons. Her tenure at Wolford was notable, but the company is now set to move in a new direction under Rimbert’s guidance.
Regis Rimbert’s extensive three-decade career in the fashion retail sector includes senior roles in prestigious fashion houses such as Prada, Christian Dior Couture, and Luella. Between 2013 and 2018, he was instrumental at Lanvin Group, overseeing the group’s retail, eCommerce, and licenses as director.
Since 2018, the Lanvin Group, which holds Wolford under its portfolio, has been majority-owned by the Chinese financial investor Fosun. Rimbert left Lanvin Group shortly after its acquisition to establish Uptify, an AI-powered retail management agency, in November 2018.
Zhen Huang, Chairman of Lanvin Group, remarked positively on the leadership change, indicating expectations for Rimbert to harness Wolford’s legacy for future growth. Eric Chan, CEO of Lanvin Group, endorsed Rimbert for his visionary leadership, aligning with the group’s ambitions to meet consumer needs and lead fashion trends. The company also expressed gratitude for Silvia Azzali’s contributions during her term.
Wolford looks forward to continued growth and innovation under Rimbert’s experienced leadership.
