Schwarzkopf Professional, a major player in the hair industry since 1898, has announced a landmark collaboration that cements its status as a go-to brand for Hollywood’s top colourists. The company has unveiled renowned celebrity hair experts Jacob Schwartz and Tracey Cunningham as key figures in their U.S. operations. Schwartz will serve as the U.S. Hair Colour Trend Ambassador, while Cunningham, co-owner of Beverly Hills’ Mèche Salon, will step into the role of U.S. Creative Director of Colour & Technique.
These strategic appointments mark an important step for Schwarzkopf Professional as it looks to increase its presence in North America and influence nationwide hair trends. Known for its innovation in hair colour, the brand aims to make its professional techniques and products, used by top Hollywood celebrities, more widely accessible to colourists across the U.S.
Schwartz and Cunningham bring a wealth of expertise to Schwarzkopf Professional. Last year, the brand expanded its ambassador network by bringing on board Chris Appleton, one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stylists. “Tracey and Jacob have become synonymous with Hollywood’s elite, always ahead of the curve in setting the latest trends,” said Michelle Chandler, General Manager of Schwarzkopf Professional U.S. “Their dedication to colour excellence and willingness to share their techniques make them ideal partners for our continued growth. Through their involvement, we hope to inspire salons and clients across the country to trust Schwarzkopf products to achieve their desired celebrity looks.”
Jacob Schwartz, a well-known name in Hollywood, caught the attention of Schwarzkopf Professional through his development of the formula for Margot Robbie’s signature blonde. His work with the brand began during a collaboration with Mattel in 2023, where he showcased his skills using Schwarzkopf’s BLONDMEⓇ range. “I’ve been using Schwarzkopf products for years,” Schwartz said. “Their BLONDMEⓇ range has been revolutionary in helping me perfect my ‘spun with gold’ technique. It’s an honour to formalise my partnership with the brand.”
It was Schwartz who reintroduced Tracey Cunningham to Schwarzkopf Professional after years of using another professional colour brand. Cunningham, known for her extensive work with high-profile clients, praised Schwarzkopf’s innovation and collaborative spirit. She recently switched to using the brand’s products at her salon, Mèche, in Beverly Hills, after extensive testing of Schwarzkopf’s formulations. “Changing colour lines after two decades wasn’t easy, but the results speak for themselves,” Cunningham said. “What’s exciting for me is the opportunity to work with Schwarzkopf’s team in their labs to create new shades that complement my clients’ undertones and maintain the integrity of their hair between appointments.”
Cunningham and Schwartz have worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, and Sydney Sweeney. Mèche Salon, where both colourists are based, has become known as a hub for the “colour obsessed,” and now offers the full range of Schwarzkopf Professional products.
With these new appointments, Schwarzkopf Professional hopes to continue shaping trends in the U.S. and offer the same level of expertise to colourists across the country as those used by Hollywood’s elite.
