Coopah, an innovative AI-driven run coaching application, has accumulated £1.5m in a recent funding round. This infusion of capital was prominently supported by pro-athlete Alistair Brownlee MBE, alongside esteemed sports agent Ricky Simms. Founded in 2022, Coopah seeks to revolutionise the approach to running, offering a solution to the high dropout rate among new runners, which stands at 58% within the first month.
Additionally, the company has welcomed Gareth Nettleton as its new Chief Marketing Officer. With a background as a marketing executive at Strava, where he contributed to its growth to over 100 million registered athletes, Nettleton is expected to lead Coopah’s marketing efforts towards significant expansion. The aim is to integrate running into everyday life, making it accessible and beneficial for both physical and mental health.
Coopah’s latest financial boost will accelerate its marketing initiatives and enhance its core product. The company’s focus is on refining the application using artificial intelligence to offer more intelligent, adaptive, and socially engaging training plans. Coopah’s CEO, Dan Strang, expressed excitement about showcasing the app’s potential to millions of current and prospective runners.
The funding round was led by Redrice Ventures and Active Partners, with further support from Amrock Ventures and Tom Singh of Rianta Capital. The involvement of London Marathon Events, which previously invested in the company, underscores a robust belief in Coopah’s potential as a training partner in major running events like the TCS London Marathon.
Jonathan Heilborn of Redrice Ventures encapsulated the journey ahead with optimism, stating, “Great team, great brand and as ever, it’ll be a marathon and not a sprint!” Coopah’s services are readily accessible via the App Store and Google Play, available through both annual and monthly subscription models.
This strategic funding and executive appointment position Coopah for significant impact in the global running community.
