Ameba, a promising AI startup based in London, has successfully secured £5.3m in a recent seed funding round. Founded in 2023, the company has developed an artificial intelligence platform that automates data extraction to enhance insights into the source and status of products within supply chains.
According to Cedrik Hoffmann, co-founder and CEO of Ameba, many leading fashion brands still rely on traditional methods like Excel for managing supply chain data and communicate via email or WhatsApp. He highlights the growing demand for faster, more cost-effective, and sustainable supply chains as significant challenges for brands today. Hoffmann asserts the company’s ambition to transform supply chains from being bottlenecks into drivers of growth.
The investment, led by Hedosophia, also drew contributions from Anamcara and existing supporter Visionaries Club. Isabella Yamamoto, a principal at Visionaries Club, expressed confidence in Ameba’s founders, Cedrik and Craig, citing their expertise in using AI to navigate and mitigate the complexities and fragmentation that hinder current supply chain structures.
The company’s strategy aligns well with the increasing industrial need to adapt rapidly to shifting consumer preferences while maintaining operational efficiency. By introducing advanced AI capabilities, Ameba positions itself as a pivotal player in revolutionising the delivery of supply chain services.
Yamamoto’s comments underscore the belief that Ameba’s AI-driven approach can offer competitive advantages by addressing the inherent fragmentation in today’s supply chains. The application of such innovative solutions is anticipated to significantly enhance how brands operate in increasingly complex environments.
The funding will enable Ameba to further develop its platform, offering innovative solutions in the evolving supply chain landscape.
