UKTN’s preliminary investigation reveals that DC01UK has yet to release comprehensive information about its operations, given that its company accounts are currently dormant.
The data centre project, pegged at £3.75 billion, is anticipated to commence operations by 2029. Economic projections suggest the initiative will generate significant national and local benefits during and post-construction. At least 500 jobs will be created during the construction phase, followed by 200 permanent roles once operational. Furthermore, DC01UK forecasts an additional 13,700 job opportunities across numerous sectors nationally, with an indirect annual revenue generation of approximately £1.1 billion.
DC01UK describes itself as a joint venture between Griggs Group and Chiltern Green Energy Ltd. While Griggs Group is reputed for bespoke new build homes and planning applications, Chiltern Green Energy specialises in identifying prime locations for solar and battery storage projects. The land in question previously housed a disused pub, the White Hart, which Griggs acquired in 2021 for £650,000.
